EXECUTIVE ORDER 2010–25

ORGANIZING TASK FORCE “MERCADO”

WHEREAS, the undersigned received information that some market stallholders and actual and actual occupants of stores have no lease contracts and Mayor’s Permit nor are they paying the correct taxes to the Local Government;

WHEREAS, there is a need to validate these information and institute correctness measures to legalize the occupancy of the Vendors and consequently raise revenue for the government;

NOW, THEREFORE I, ROBERT B. MAROMA, Municipal Mayor, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the law, do hereby order;

SECTION 1. The Task Force “Mercado” is hereby organized and to be composed of the following:

SECTION 2. Functions: The Task Force shall perform the following:

a. To gather and review all related municipal ordinances and documents pertaining to the operation of a business in the Public Market more particularly in the occupation of lease of stall.
b. To inspect and verify the legal status of the occupants and leases of stalls, stores and designated areas within the public market, including their payment of permit fees, taxes and rentals up to the current period.
c. To submit to the undersigned within fifteen days the report and recommendations on a duly accomplished form for appropriate action. For this purpose the Task Force is hereby directed to prioritize the stalls within the permanent buildings.

SECTION 3. The OFFICE OF THE MUNICIPAL TREASURER SHALL PROVIDE SECRETARIAT support to the Task Force. As such it shall be responsible in taking records of the meetings/activities, in preparing reports and communications, and such others needed by the Task Force in the performance of their functions.

SECTION 6. This Order shall take effect immediately.
