Cabatuan Agro-Industrial Fair, Exhibits and Garden Show a Success
The Municipality of Cabatuan held a successful Agro-Industrial Fair last August 31 – September 10, 2010 at Cabatuan Plaza. The activity was spearheaded by Municipal Agriculture Office to showcase agricultural products, industrial and non-agricultural products of the town.
The Agro-Industrial Fair was formally opened by Mayor Robert B. Maroma, OIC-Provincial Agriculturist Ildefonso T. Toledo and the Municipal Officials of the Town. After the opening rites, the affair was succeeded with the program and highlighted with the awarding on prizes for the Search for the Most Outstanding Farmer with Backyard Vegetable Garden, Outstanding Barangay with Communal Garden and Farmer with the longest pole sitao, biggest ampalaya and biggest squash.
The winners for the Outstanding Farmer with Vegetable Garden in Backyard Scale are: Ena Poral of Janipaan Central-First Place; Ernesto Boteja of Pamuringao Proper-Second Place; Narciso Niniano of Ito Norte-Third Place; Rene Ferro of Tacdangan-Fourth Place; Mildred Bolaños of Amerang-Fifth Place.
The winners for the Outstanding Farmer with Vegetable Garden in Commercial Scale are: Roman Alcalde of Lag-an-First Place; Romeo Relatos of Acao-Second Place; Gloria Redondo of Pacatin-Third Place; Eleuterio Puga of Inabasan-Fourth Place; Lamberto Bolaños of Amurao-Fifth Place; Cirilo Tabares of Sulanga-Sixth Place and Loreto San Pedro of Guibuangan Tigbauan-Seventh Place.
The winners of Outstanding Barangays with Vegetable Garden are: Brgy. Inaca-First Place; Brgy. Janipaan Central-Second Place; Brgy. Tupol Central-Third Place; Brgy. Salacay-Fourth Place and Brgy. Puyas-Fifth Place.
The said affair was participated in by all barangays, Cutflower growers and individuals that contribute to the municipal economy and showcased the livestock industry, vegetables, fruits, processed food, furnitures and even civic affairs in the municipality. It is also the showcase of the food sufficiency and pro-poor programs of the local government.
There are booths in the fair representing 9 districts of the town and booth for the Municipal Agriculture Office.
