SEMINAR WORKSHOP ON DISASTER PREPAREDNESS, DISASTER MANGEMENT AND RELATED PROGRAMS  HELD IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF CABATUAN

The Municipal Disaster Coordinating Council (MDCC) of the Local Government Unit of Cabatuan held a Seminar Workshop on Disaster Preparedness, Disaster Management and Related Programs to the members of the Municipal Disaster Coordinating Council last August 9-13, 2010 followed by the Punong Barangays, Barangay Kagawads, Barangay Tanods, Barangay Secretaries, Day Care Workers and BNS/BSPO from the different districts of this municipality.

The nine (9) districts were divided into five (5) batches with the following schedules:

1. Sept. 4 - 6, 2010                 - District 6 & 7

2. Sept. 20 - 22, 2010             - District 8 & 9

3. Sept. 27 – 29, 2010             - Poblacion & Salacay

4. Oct. 4 – 6, 2010                  - District 4 & 5

5. Oct. 13 -15, 2010                - District 2,  3 and Janipa-an Este

The resource speakers were Mr. Jerry V. Bionat the Provincial Deputized Civil Defense Coordinator in the province of Iloilo, members of the Philippine National Police  and from the Bureau of Fire Protection in the municipality of Cabatuan.

This seminar was made through the efforts of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office under the leadership of the Mrs. Decideria S. Bermejo, MSWDO at the same time the Municipal Deputized Civil Defense Coordinator together with her alternate Municipal Deputized Civil Defense Coordinator Miss Loida Enriquez, SWO-I, through the active and full support of Local Government Unit headed by our    Municipal Mayor Hon. Robert B. Maroma, the members of the Sangguniang Bayan and the 68 barangays of this municipality.

The seminar-workshop aims to provide/equip the participants with the basic knowledge on disaster management and skills in preparing, responding and managing effectively and efficiently before, during and after the occurrence of man-made and natural calamities.                     .
