I.  Functional Statement
The Agriculture sector is responsible for the delivery of basic services to farmers through technical assistance on the promotion of improved technology on rice production in line with the national program based on Key Production Approach, for agricultural sustainability; it shall extend technical services necessary to make agriculture and agri-based enterprises profitable and help spread the benefits of development to the poor, particularly those in the rural areas.

II. Objectives
1. To help ensure food security in support to the government's efforts towards self sufficiency in rice, corn and other high valued crops.
2. To increase rice production from 3.5 mt. to 5.5mt per hectare per cropping season.
3. To encourage farmers to use environment friendly tecnology-use of compost or organic fertilizers, IPM & surveillance of
Pest & Early Warning System.
4. To establish techno demo & model farms or matured technology that demonstrate the results of research studies.
5. To increase livestock and poultry production by 3% per year and reduce dog population by 20% to prevent rabies in dogs.
6. To improve health care and prevention of diseases to dogs to poultry & livestock
7. To reduce prevalence of children belonging to below normal to low through livelihood programs
8. To strengthen the rural-based organization and cooperatives
9. To enhance capabilities of agricultural technologists and farmers, and
10.To develop skills of farmers through livelihood trainings
